Custom App Information Required
The Branded App built by Intelivideo includes the client’s logo and brand colors. The assets and information required to create the app are listed below and requires various actions and investment by both the client and Intelivideo.
PLEASE NOTE:
The following list is required prior to Intelivideo starting the App build process.
- App Contact Name & Email - The primary person of contact in the event one of the app stores wants to speak with you and a full name.
- Developer Accounts Created & Invited - Using the links below, you must be sure to have accounts created and Intelivideo invited for Apple, Google, and Amazon.
- App Names - There is a 30 character limit for the app stores, and 12 characters limit under the icon. Please Note! These limits include the spaces and we've found that the shorter the names the better possibility for customers to find your app, it's less for a customer to type.
PLEASE NOTE:
When submitting your app to ANY of the app stores, if you ALREADY have an app available with a similar name, it’s best to make sure you differentiate the name of your On-Demand app before submitting. Intelivideo has seen several instances where if an app is submitted for approval with a very similar app name, it can lead to app launch delays, especially with Apple App store. - App Subtitle - Usually what is good to place here is a summary of your app that will appear under the name on the app stores. We recommend to stay at 30 characters (also including the spaces)
- App Description & Company Name - At Intelivideo, we want you to have the most successful app to obtain SVOD subscribers. In order to provide potential customers with information, it’s best to provide us with a description and a unique name for Company and App. An example of the Company Name is shown below.
PLEASE NOTE:
The app description has a 4,000 character limit. We recommend you include language about the subscription, subscribers, pricing, selling, or purchasing Additional information from Apple, Google, and Amazon are available to help you understand the best ways to craft a good and catching description to get users attention! - Primary & Secondary Colors - We will need these colors to program your app, and it’s best to provide us with these colors in what is called HEX. For more information about this and other web colors we can utilize, see here or speak with your Client Success Manager.
- Videos Uploaded to Account - We recommend that before submitting your app or even testing it, that you have 5 videos uploaded to Intelivideo. If you have questions about this, please speak with your Client Success Manager.
- One Subscription and Collection in Account - We also recommend that you have created in the Intelivideo content management system, including media, pricing and a 1920x1080 banner image (uploaded to the Subscriptions or Collections.) If you have questions about this, please speak with your Client Success Manager.
- Keywords - Just like SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for websites, the app stores of today also require keywords to further categorize your app so people can discover it through searching. Providing keywords to your Client Success Manager will help us make sure people can find you and we can use these for SEO on your web on-demand platform as well!
- Apple In-App Purchase Information - Apple requires specific information to be used for the price points, as well as if you are offering a free trial, what the trial will be based on their system offering. See below for more details:
- Apple In-App Pricing: Apple only offers pricing in $.99 or $.49 increments. There’s tools online such as this website, that help you figure out both what is a pricing tier, as well as the proceeds you will make as a company.
- Free Trials: Apple has a specific way to offer free trials. At Intelivideo, we’ve seen the best success from a 7-day (1 week) free trial; however, Apple offers the following:
- 1 week
- 2 weeks
- 1 month
- 2 months
- 3 months
- 6 months
- 1 year
Custom App Images & Sizes Required
There are several image assets that your Client Success Manager will request from you. Getting these images are vital for our app creation and if sizes are not accurate it can lead to delays in getting the application built and approved. Feel free to ask as many questions as possible about these images and their necessary sizing and file types.
You can also read Apple's guidelines below, and we especially recommend you review information on icons and images at the link below.
From here, work with your Client Success Manager to create and deliver the app images and branding assets detailed below.

Provide primary and secondary color codes
In addition to the home page image, the branded experience is enhanced with a primary and secondary color. The primary color is used in the top navigation bar and the buttons throughout the App (aqua below). The secondary color is used with a small number of buttons and notifications (black below).
Configure and Build App
Once all the required assets are delivered to Intelivideo, the App will be configured, built, and submitted to the various app stores for review. The review process for each app store is different with Apple presenting the most rejections. Intelivideo will respond in a timely manner to all rejections and provide new app builds, if necessary, for re-submission. Intelivideo also provides basic screenshots of the Login, Home, and Media screens of the App. These are used on the promotion page in each App store.
